In 2014, the Ministry of Tourism published a digital version of the story “Ecuador maravilloso cuentos, paisajes y comida” (Ecuador’s Marvelous Stories, Landscapes, and Food) on its website, aiming to consolidate Ecuador’s gastronomic identity. This publication encourages children and youth to playfully learn about and understand the iconic dishes of the country. It was created with the aim of raising awareness on these interests and through the organization of national gastronomic heritage.

Based on this book, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Tourism went on to develop a gastronomic map of Ecuadorian cuisine, which Earlene helped to advise.
